Walking alone

I walk alone in the darkest night,
seeing only by the pale moonlight.
Looking around and seeing those lost,
wanting to save them, but at what cost.
Each inside themselves they must look,
knowing the answers are within the book.
Lies to themselves they have told,
but deceptions gain them nothing to hold.
Joy eludes them and they know not why,
"Why has the world done this to me?" they cry.
They try to lure me with cries of "It's a fantasy",
but try as they might, I avoid their misery.
I continue on, walking my own right path,
for in the end I know, I have to face God's wrath.
